Tamara Thomas, MD, is a practicing emergency medicine physician and Dean of Loma Linda University School of Medicine. Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, Dr. Thomas is an avid photographer and has traveled extensively capturing many corners of the world. Growing up as a twin, Dr. Thomas early on recognized the power in celebrating the gifts of others. In her current role on campus, she inspires and mentors students to move beyond comparison and tap into their unique potential. She also works to facilitate healthcare and medical school infrastructure abroad. Her involvement overseas has been instrumental in the development of emergency systems to manage health outcomes for developing communities.
