Meet Our People

Richard E. Chinnock, MD

Chief Medical Officer, Children’s Hospital

Dr. Richard Chinnock has served as a clinician, educator, and leader in pediatric care at Loma Linda University Health. As a servant leader, Dr. Chinnock has spent his career advocating for the care of babies and children as uniquely vulnerable patients requiring specialized care for their best chance at living healthy lives. Richard’s father, Dr. Conrad Chinnock, was LLUH’s first chair of pediatrics and helped open the new children’s hospital in 2021. Richard’s son, Dr. Timothy Chinnock, has continued the family legacy as a pediatrician. Among his many contributions, Dr. Chinnock served as medical director of the Pediatric Heart Transplant Program at the Loma Linda International Heart Institute and as chair of the department of pediatrics at LLUH, overseeing the construction of the new children’s hospital like his father before him.
