We’re Stronger Together
With your help, we can make ambitious innovations in clinical care and education for our community.
Are you or a loved one suffering from substance abuse? Recovery is possible, and our team at the Behavioral Medicine Center (BMC) is here to offer hope and help for achieving sobriety.
Our Substance Use Recovery and Wellness program treats adults suffering from alcoholism and drug addiction. While the decision to enter into treatment can be difficult, maintaining sobriety is an important step toward a much better quality of life.
We treat addiction and abuse for many substances, including:
Our inpatient and outpatient programs are designed to meet the specific needs of you or your loved one. We integrate the proven 12-step approach into group process therapy, addiction education and family support groups.
Both inpatient and outpatient programs include group meetings that involve:
Youth services: Specialty programs are available for adolescents ages 17 years or younger who are dealing with substance abuse or experiencing addictive behaviors.
Our treatment team includes all the specialists you need:
We’re here for you or your loved one at every step in the journey to substance use recovery. Because substance use disorders can require very different levels of care, your treatment is tailored to your needs. Whatever care you need, treatment typically begins within 24 hours after your intake assessment.
During your first visit to the Behavioral Medicine Center (BMC), you’ll have a one hour intake assessment with one of our nurses. The goal of this appointment is to help determine what level of care will be most beneficial for you.
At the conclusion of your appointment, a recommended treatment plan is provided based on your needs. If a higher level of care (like inpatient detox) is right for you, we’ll recommend you begin admission to our inpatient units.
Safe detoxification is one of the first steps in any recovery program. Your medically-managed withdrawal is supervised by a psychiatrist who specializes in addiction medicine. To keep you as comfortable and medically stable as possible, your psychiatrist will prescribe medications that help manage your withdrawal symptoms.
The inpatient medically-managed withdrawal process usually takes about three to seven days. During this time, we’ll support you in developing a plan for discharge and continued sobriety. This may include transitioning into one of our outpatient programs for the best recovery outcome.
Before you start any level of treatment, our licensed therapist will go over all details of the program components with you. In our outpatient treatment programs, families are encouraged to attend at least one weekly group session to maximize the effectiveness of the treatment program.
Not all patients need an inpatient level of care. When it’s best for your recovery, we offer daytime outpatient programs.
The partial hospitalization program (PHP) requires you to attend five days a week. PHP is ideal if you require a more structured treatment but do not need medical assistance or 24-hour supervision. Our team’s goal is to stabilize you and your family and prepare you for a successful transition into a less intensive level of care.
You’ll spend much of your time in a group setting, which is one of the most effective treatments for substance use. Groups focus on learning about the disease of addiction, developing coping skills and preventing relapse. You’ll also have the opportunity to meet with a therapist one-on-one as needed.
Our intensive outpatient program (IOP) is a step down from partial hospitalization. IOP requires a few hours of group treatment a day, three to five times a week. Day and evening programs are available.
Specialized groups are available if you are struggling with recovery from chronic pain, prescription drug addiction or alcoholism. This program encompasses and encourages alternative physical treatments, including:
After the completion of outpatient programming, we offer ongoing support through our alumni groups. These groups are run by an independent, active association of people who have graduated from the program and wish to help others in their recovery journey. Sober living homes, operated by the Recovery Alumni Association, are available for outpatients in the program.
Individual therapy services are available whether you need an hourly visit once a week or more extensive therapy. Our team helps you by focusing on symptom reduction and management, development of coping skills and ongoing support.
These services are currently offered virtually and in-person.
We offer inpatient and outpatient MAT services to provide an additional level of care if you’re struggling with a substance use disorder. In combination with behavioral therapies, tailored medical treatments allow for an effective and holistic approach to recovery. MAT can help treat a variety of addictions, including opioid, alcohol and nicotine.
One of our goals is to create a healthy community around you. Our program puts a heavy emphasis on enhancing the quality of life for your whole family. Treatment focuses on rebuilding and strengthening family bonds in group settings, including:
Family groups are available for both current patients and graduates of the program.
At this time, we do not accept direct Medi-Cal, Inland Empire Health Plan (IEHP), Molina, Cal-Optima or any other state or county funded insurance plans.
We do accept IEHP Dual Choice (Medicare + Medi-Cal), Medi-Medi (Medicare + Medicaid) and most major commercial insurances. All services are subject to insurance approval and may be provided on a cash pay basis if you choose. If you need help paying for services, financial assistance is available — learn more or call 909-558-8613.
