E-Visits through MyChart can help you get convenient guidance on non-urgent health issues, no office or video visit needed. They’re useful for minor issues and symptoms that don’t require a physical or office exam. Log into MyChart, fill out the health questionnaire, and a provider will respond with next steps.
The goal of an E-Visit is to provide a diagnosis and treatment plan in a timely manner. Your provider may offer treatment right away, like prescribing medication, or ask you to schedule an office or video visit for further evaluation.

What to Expect
Once you have submitted your request, a provider will respond in the next four business hours (Mon-Fri 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.). Requests after 3 p.m. will receive a response by 10 a.m. the next business day. In their reply, your provider may provide some kind of treatment plan, such as a prescription to treat your symptoms. But they may also ask follow-up questions, request additional images, or recommend further steps to help your provider better diagnose and treat your condition. In some cases, you may receive a phone call instead of a MyChart reply.
You will be notified through MyChart when your provider has responded to your request and when your E-Visit is complete.
Costs
Like an office visit with your provider, E-Visits are a billable service. The co-pay for an E-Visit varies depending on insurance, ranging between $3-$20. The self-pay rate ranges from $18-$90, depending on the length and complexity of your E-Visit. You won’t be charged if the E-Visit is not completed or if your provider recommends making an appointment for further evaluation.
