Give the Gift of Hope This Holiday Season
Your gift supports patients on their path to health and healing.
Our curriculum provides exposure to a diverse patient population in a wide variety of settings. It also prepares you for future responsibilities, including supervision of other physicians.
Every month, residents switch to a new specialty to gain experience and learn skills in a variety of treatment areas. The curriculum is designed for residents to advance to supervisory roles after completing 12 months of intern level residency.
Your first year aims to transition you from medical student to clinically skilled physician. Your training is facilitated by a collaborative and supportive learning environment across all academic settings.
During your second year, you’ll hone inpatient medicine skills and broaden clinical competence in primary and consultative medicine.
Your third year provides time for mastery of the academic and clinical skills necessary to become a board-certified internist.
This one-year program provides a solid foundation for further training. Although schedules vary slightly, preliminary program residents are otherwise indistinguishable from categorical residents and enjoy the same benefits and responsibilities.
