Our Aim

The Loma Linda University Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Residency Program will educate, equip and foster compassionate, growth-minded, life-long learners who will contribute significantly to their patients, the field of PM&R and society by providing and promoting excellent whole person care.

Residency Training

The Loma Linda University PMR Residency Program is; fully accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).  It offers both four-year categorical and three-year advanced positions.  There are four PGY-1 positions and fifteen PGY-2 through PGY-4 positions.

Application Process

Applications are received through the Electronic Residency Application System (ERAS).   Applicants selected for an interview will be contacted via the email address on their application.  Interviews are by invitation only. Our program participates in the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) for both the categorical and advanced program.

2020 - 2021 Application Period

We will be conducting virtual interviews this season.

Applications will be accepted through October 31, 2020 on ERAS only, for four PGY-1 (categorical) positions starting in 2021 and one PGY-2 (advanced) position starting in 2022.  The interview period will be held on Wednesday, December 2 and December 16, 2020 and January 6 and January 20, 2021, by invitation only.

Selection Process

Applicants are assessed on the basis of academic record, references, and personal qualities without prejudice of race, color, sex, or religion. The program attempts to attract some candidates whose career interests are academic. Particular consideration in the selection of all candidates is given to those personal qualities that are important in the field of rehabilitation medicine. The residency committee makes the final selection.
