Who is considered a strong applicant?

We aim to look at the whole applicant, with emphasis on mission alignment with our residency program and institution. 

When are interviews held and when will invitations be sent out?

Invitations for interview and applicant status letters will be sent by mid-October 2025.  

Interview dates will be held on November 11, November 12, December 3, and December 10. Waitlist applicants will stay active until December 9.

All interviews are conducted from 7:30 am – 1:00 pm PST.
 

Will interviews be held virtually?

Yes, following the recommendations from the AAMC and LLUHEC GME, all interviews will be held virtually for the 2025-2026 application cycle.

Do you accept medical students for rotations?

Yes, all student rotations are through Visiting Student Learning Opportunities (VSLO) which the Loma Linda University School of Medicine oversees. Please visit their website for detailed instructions.

 

How many positions are available through the MATCH?

We have 5 categorical positions available through the MATCH. We do not offer positions outside the MATCH. 

What are your Letter of Recommendation (LOR) requirements?

We require a total of three LOR’s. One of those letters must be from a PM&R physician who has observed you clinically. We strongly encourage submitting one Standard Letter of Evaluation (SLOE) as the PM&R letter. The SLOE can be found here. Narrative LORs are also welcome.

Do you have USMLE or COMLEX requirements:

Please note that it is rare for applicants with a history of failure during any of the USMLE or COMLEX exams to receive an invitation for interview.

ECFMG certification requirements:

ECFMG certification is required for international medical graduates. Please see GME website for further details.
