Dr. Joshua Loeb is a Pediatric Neurologist and Epileptologist who has been practicing at Loma Linda University Children's Hospital since 2015.  He graduated from Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana in 2009. He completed his Pediatrics and Child Neurology training at Loma Linda University Children's Hospital and completed a fellowship in Clinical Neurophysiology at Children's Hospital of Orange County/UC Irvine. Dr. Loeb is the Co-Director of the Division of Pediatric Epilepsy and the Medical Director of the Complex Epilepsy Team Center.  He has a special interest in pediatric epilepsy and medically refractory epilepsy.  He has particular interest in surgical, dietary, and neuromodulation techniques for treating children with complex epilepsy. He is board certified in Epilepsy and in Neurology with special qualification in Child Neurology.

Dr. Gregory Aaen graduated from Loma Linda University School of Medicine in 2003. He obtained two years of general pediatric training and then finished three years of pediatric neurology training at Loma Linda University Children's Hospital in 2008. Dr. Aaen did further training in pediatric demyelinating diseases at The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Canada. Prior to studying medicine, he completed his child neurology residency at Loma Linda University Children's Hospital in 2008. He is a member of the Consortium of Multiple Sclerosis Centers and the International Pediatric MS Study Group. He is the Medical Director of the Pediatric Multiple Sclerosis Clinic, which is affiliated with the US Network of Pediatric MS Centers. In addition to multiple sclerosis, Dr. Aaen is also the co-director of the pediatric autoimmune encephalitis clinic that treats children with NMDA receptor encephalitis, limbic encephalitis, and related conditions. He also serves as the program director for the child neurology residency program. Dr. Aaen is board certified in Neurology with Special Qualification in Child Neurology. 

Dr. Priscilla Chee graduated from Loma Linda University School of Medicine in 2012 and completed her pediatrics and child neurology training at Loma Linda University Children's Hospital. She then underwent further training as a visiting physician in pediatric headache medicine at Cincinnati Children's Hospital in Ohio. Dr. Chee has a special interest in providing comprehensive care to children with headaches, and is passionate about helping all children achieve their full potential. She is board certified in Neurology with Special Qualification in Child Neurology.

Dr. David Michelson is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics and Neurology at the Loma Linda University School of Medicine. He joined the Child Neurology faculty following the completion of his fellowship training here in 2004. He attended medical school at the University of California at Los Angeles School of Medicine and did his pediatric residency at Kaiser Oakland in Northern California. He is board certified in neurology with special qualification in child neurology.

Dr. Michelson has regular clinics in general child neurology and serves as the medical director for the Loma Linda University Muscular Dystrophy Association Clinic where he provides supportive care to patients of all ages with neuromuscular diseases.

Dr. Young-Min Kim is Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Loma Linda University School of Medicine.  He joined the Child Neurology faculty in 2016.  He received his medical degree from Washington University in St. Louis School of Medicine and completed his training in Pediatrics and Pediatric Neurology at Barnes-Jewish Hospital and St. Louis Children's Hospital.  He is board certified in Neurology with special qualification in Child Neurology.

Dr. Kim has special interest in providing comprehensive care for children with cerebral palsy and movement disorders.  He provides specialized care including botulinum toxin injections and deep brain stimulation.  He also has special interest in the life-long care of persons with neurodevelopmental disorders and participates in their care from the prenatal period into adulthood. He is Director of the Pediatric Neurology Cerebral Palsy and Pediatric Movement Disorders Center (CPMDC) and also Co-Director of the Neurology Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (Neuro-NICU).  He is Associate Director of the Pediatric Neurology Residency Program at Loma Linda University Children's Hospital.  He is the consulting Neurologist at the Inland Regional Center and also sees patients at the SAC Health in San Bernardino.  Dr. Kim cares for children with general neurological conditions including epilepsy, traumatic brain injury, and neurogenetic conditions. 

Dr. Kim highly values the partnership between physicians and families to care for each child.  He values kindness, open communication, and empowering families through education and counseling.  He values setting clear goals and involving families in the decision-making process.  He values making diagnoses that have therapeutic value and meaning for each child.

Dr. Stephen Ashwal is a distinguished professor in the Departments of Pediatrics and Neurology at Loma Linda University School of Medicine. He has been a member of the Division of Child Neurology in the Department of Pediatrics and on the staff of Loma Linda University Children's Hospital since 1976 and was the division chief until 2019. He received his medical degree from New York University School of Medicine in 1970, did his pediatric training at Bellevue Hospital in New York and completed his training in Child Neurology at the University of Minnesota. He is board certified in Pediatrics and in Adult Neurology and Psychiatry with special competence in Child Neurology. Dr. Ashwal has been an active member of the Child Neurology Society since 1975 and served as its President (2001-03). He has also written and edited several books in the field of child neurology and does research related to areas of acute brain injury in children. Dr. Ashwal sees patients with all types of neurological conditions such as epilepsy, developmental delay, cerebral palsy, headaches, tics and other forms of movement disorders, learning disabilities,  attention deficit disorders, and a wide variety of other rare childhood neurological conditions. Dr. Ashwal is committed to the care of children with serious neurological disorders as well as helping families optimize their long-term potential.

Dr. Chalmer McClure is an associate professor in the departments of Pediatrics and Neurology at Loma Linda University School of Medicine (LLUSM). He originally joined the division of Child Neurology at Loma Linda University Children's Hospital in 1998. Before rejoining Loma Linda University, he was a partner in the Southern California Permanente Medical Group from 2011 through 2017. He received his medical degree in 1992 from LLUSM, did his pediatric training at Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital (1992-94), and completed his training in Child Neurology at the Baylor College of Medicine/Texas Children’s Hospital (1995-98). He is board certified in Neurology with Special Qualification in Child Neurology. Dr. McClure has additional degrees in Anatomy from Loma Linda University Graduate School (MS 1984, PhD 1989). He participated as site investigator in several multicenter stroke studies through the International Pediatric Stroke Study Group. In clinic, Dr. McClure sees general Pediatric Neurology patients, while also serving as a consulting Child Neurologist for the Autism Assessment Centers in San Bernardino and Riverside.

Dr. Sunitha Nune graduated from the American University of Antigua Medical College and completed her pediatric residency at Akron Children’s hospital in Akron, Ohio. She then went to complete her child neurology residency at the University of Tennessee, Memphis at Le Bonheur Children’s hospital. Following her graduation, she pursued a fellowship in sleep medicine and graduated from the University of Michigan with a specialty in sleep medicine. Her interests involve exploring the link between sleep and neurological and genetic disorders, along with education in the improvement of sleep in pediatric patients.

Dr. Sarah Roddy is an associate professor in the Departments of Pediatrics and Neurology at Loma Linda University School of Medicine. She has been a member of the Division of Child Neurology at Loma Linda since 1996. She received her medical degree from Loma Linda University School of Medicine in 1980. She completed her pediatric training (1981-1983) and pediatric neurology training (1983-1986) at Loma Linda University. She is board certified in Pediatrics, as well as in Neurology with special qualification in Child Neurology. From 1986-1995, Dr. Roddy was a member of the Division of Child Neurology at the University of Rochester in New York.  Dr. Roddy sees patients with all types of neurological disorders but has a special interest in tic disorders, attention deficit disorder, and learning disabilities. 

Dr. Stanford Shu has been a member of the division of child neurology in the department of pediatrics as Loma Linda University Children's Hospital since 1997.  He received his medical degree form Loma Linda University School of Medicine in 1992 and completed child neurology training at Loma Linda in 1997.  He is board certified in neurology with special qualification in child neurology.  Dr. Shu sees patients with a variety of neurologic disorders including epilepsy, cerebral palsy, developmental delay, muscle disorders, headaches, congenital malformations of the brain, movement disorders, and learning disabilities including ADHD and Tourette's Syndrome.  He is the director of the vagus nerve stimulator clinic and has research interests in acute brain injury due to trauma and asphyxia, as well as neurologic issues in newborns.  Dr. Shu is also an affiliate staff member of Campus Crusade and is involved in whole person care conferences and student electives both nationally and internationally.

Dr. David Young is a Child Neurologist who joined the faculty at Loma Linda University in 2024. He graduated from the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) combined MD-PhD program (MSTP) in 2012. He completed his PhD in Neuroscience, studying Tuberous Sclerosis through a mouse model of autism in the Lily Jan lab. He continued at UCSF for the Pediatric Neurology residency, finishing in 2017 and staying on as faculty. He went on to complete postdoctoral studies in Bioinformatics at UCSF, employing computer vision approaches to reconstruct developmental mouse atlases in 3D. He also served as a visiting scientist to the A*STAR institute (NIH equivalent) in Singapore, where he worked on deep learning approaches for brain lesion segmentation. He joined Loma Linda University in 2024, where he has a special interest in neurodevelopmental disorders and neurohospitalist practice. He serves as a consultant for the Inland Empire Autism Assessment Center of Excellence and seeks to help children maximize their developmental potential. He also continues to engage in computational research of autism models through imaging and genomics. He is board certified in Neurology with Special Qualification in Child Neurology.
