Goal $15 million

Through Stronger Together, Loma Linda University School of Nursing aims to address the critical nursing shortage by constructing a new, state-of-the-art educational building and investing in student support services and scholarship programs.

Established in 1905, the school was the first of the institution’s eight schools and was founded upon a legacy of global Christian service. Over the last 124 years, it has expanded its programs, services, and student body. Now, it is embarking on a $15 million campaign to double its graduation rate.

California anticipates a deficit of 40,000 nurses in a decade, and the School of Nursing is ready to help fill that gap.

In 1907, the first class graduated seven students. Today, the school boasts 764 students from 34 countries, including 538 students of color, many of whom are first-generation college students. Offering 5 undergraduate and 15 graduate programs, the school provides an exemplary nursing education centered in whole person care. Every gift to the Stronger Together campaign will help prepare more nurses for lives of service.

Together, we will address our nation’s critical nursing shortage.

Focus Areas

The School of Nursing expansion is envisioned as a new educational space that features multiple classrooms, group workspaces, and offices located near its current building. The impact of expanding our programs and our building include:

  • Addressing the nursing shortage to meet the growing demand for healthcare professionals in this community and beyond.
  • Improved access to healthcare ensures comprehensive and timely patient care is available when patients need it most.
  • Diversity in the healthcare workforce contributes to more culturally competent caregivers who better reflect the demographics of the communities they serve.

Together we will:

  • Expand our programs to have the capacity and resources to educate and graduate more nurses.
  • Strengthen our educational environment so that all learners reach their highest potential.
  • Equip our students for lives of service in communities around the world.
