The Neurosurgery Department at Loma Linda University Health offers our patients the convenience of post-op video visits. Video visits are a type of virtual visit that brings the best neurosurgery providers in the region directly to you.
What is a video visit?
A video visit is a real-time chat with your provider. You’ll use a computer, smartphone or tablet with video and audio capabilities to see and speak with your provider. From the comfort of your home, you’ll be able to complete your post-op appointment just like normal. Your provider will assess you and let you know the next step in your care.
Post-op video visits provide a number of benefits, including:
- The comfort of avoiding stressful and time-consuming traveling and parking.
- More timely appointments and less waiting around in a doctor’s office.
- Convenience, accessibility and reliability that result in better quality of care.
How does a video visit work?
Your neurosurgery provider will let you know if you’re eligible for video visits. Usually, patients who have had a less invasive procedure are eligible. During the video visit, patients must be located in the state of California to be eligible.
How to access your eCheck-In and Video Visit
An online check-in must be completed to begin the video visit. You can complete the check-in process (which includes verifying personal information) up to three days before your appointment. You can check in by logging into MyChart. Once logged in, navigate to the "Appointments and Visits" page. Select the post-op appointment and then click the "eCheck-In" button.
On the day of your post-op appointment, you can access the video visit by logging into MyChart. Navigate to your appointment again and then click the green "Begin Visit" button.
If you need help, please contact your provider’s office.
