How do I apply to the program?

Submit the following to prevmedres@llu.edu:

  • Current CV
  • Two recommendation letters (one from your most recent residency program director) Recommenders to send letters directly to the program coordinator at psalcedo@llu.edu
  • A one to two page description of your interest in the our fellowship program

Selected candidates will be invited to interview.

What are the prerequisites needed to apply to the program?

  • Completion of a primary residency and board certified or board eligible in the United States.
  • Full, unrestricted CA medical license by the fellowship start date

When is the application deadline?

The deadline is October 1.

Do you accept foreign medical graduates?

Unfortunately, we cannot accept foreign medical graduates unless they have completed a primary residency program in the United States.

Do you accept provider extenders such as physician assistants or nurse practitioners?

No, we do not accept other types of providers at this time.

How long is the program?

The program is one year in length.

Do you accept off-cycle fellows?

Yes, we may consider strong applicants that are off cycle from the academic year.

How many fellows do you accept per year?

We can accept up to two fellows per year.

When does the fellowship start and is there flexibility in the start date?

Typical start times are July through August with some flexibility that can be negotiated on an individual basis.

Will I be engaged in teaching other learners?

Our fellows will precept medical students and residents during clinical lifestyle medicine service activities and support lifestyle medicine didactic curriculum delivery.
