We aim to train aspiring cardiac electrophysiologists to treat complex heart rhythm disorders. Our program provides experience in a wide spectrum of complex pathologies that are seen in the Inland Empire area with no other large academic centers nearby.

Program Highlights

  • Premier Training Facility: Loma Linda University Medical Center is a leading tertiary academic hospital equipped with 320 beds and renowned for its referral network that spans San Bernardino and Riverside Counties.
  • Comprehensive EP Training: Fellows will experience hands-on training across the full spectrum of electrophysiology.
  • Multidisciplinary Care: Fellows collaborate closely with various sub-specialties, ensuring whole-person care.
  • Research Excellence:  Our division has a strong emphasis on research, with numerous publications and abstracts showcasing our commitment to advancing the field of electrophysiology.
  • Collaborative Hybrid Programs: The division has a strong collaboration with our cardiothoracic surgery department, particularly in hybrid ablation programs for Atrial Fibrillation and IST (Inappropriate Sinus Tachycardia), as well as lead extraction procedures.
  • Exceptional Advanced Practice Support: Our advanced practice professionals work closely with attendings and fellows to ensure unparalleled quality care for patients, both inpatient and outpatient.

Training Sites

LLUMC

Loma Linda University Medical Center

Our new 16 story hospital is a 320-bed facility with state-of-the-art catheterization laboratories, echocardiogram, and advanced imaging facilities. Loma Linda University Medical Center is associated with Loma Linda University School of Medicine and is located approximately 70 miles east of Los Angeles and 40 miles west of Palm Springs, California.

Comprehensive Electrophysiology Training

Catheter Ablation

Catheter Ablation

Supraventricular tachycardia (SVT), ventricular tachycardia (VT), and atrial fibrillation (AF) are treated with cutting-edge technology. We maintain a close collaboration with our pediatric EP program and allow fellows to participate in procedures in patients with complex congenital heart disease.
Device Implantation

Device Implantation

Fellows will gain expertise in various device implantation techniques, including conduction system pacing, leadless pacemaker implantation, and phrenic nerve stimulator implantation.
Atrial Appendage Occlusion

Left Atrial Appendage Occlusion

Fellows participate in our well-established program, which offers both intracardiac echocardiography (ICE) guided and transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) guided operators.
Comprehensive Lead Extraction

Comprehensive Lead Extraction

Fellows become proficient in lead extraction where we are employing superior and inferior approaches routinely.
