Training at Loma Linda has been an incredible experience. The training is well rounded with extensive experience in critical care management, operative skills, and advanced therapies of mechanical circulatory support. Trainees are on the front lines in all aspects of patient care which provides an excellent hands-on training experience. I think the operative experience at this program is its greatest strength. There is high volume of diverse cases from isolated CABG to complex redo valve and aortic reconstructions. Each month of training I grow more comfortable in my knowledge and technical skills to be able to lead and perform operations independently. This program is helping me reach all of the goals I had coming into training and I feel well prepared for my future career in cardiothoracic surgery

Alumni Testimonial

I am extremely grateful for having had the opportunity to train at Loma Linda for fellowship. The operative experience and autonomy in patient care at Loma Linda is unparalleled. From the preop work up, to the OR, to the post-op care of patients, the trainee is heavily involved in every step of patient care. This helps the resident learn the judgement, operative skills, and patient management needed to be an independent surgeon through high volume hands on experience. I felt very well-prepared entering practice at a busy academic medical center doing complex cases because of my experience at Loma Linda.
