Dr. Studer has been the program director since July 2019. She is board certified in public health and preventive medicine, obesity medicine, integrative medicine and lifestyle medicine. She also teaches for the MPH in Population Medicine at the School of Public Health and works clinically at our local FQHC. She is passionate about teaching and helping residents find their career path. She became Chair of the Department of Preventive Medicine in July 2024.

Brooklynne Palmer, MD, MPH

Brooklynne Palmer, MD, MPH, is the current Preventive Medicine/Public Health chief resident at Loma Linda University Health. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Biology and Neuroscience before completing a Master of Public Health and medical degree at UT Southwestern in Dallas, TX. She has completed training in plant-based nutrition & culinary medicine and is a Food for Life cooking instructor through PCRM. Dr. Palmer’s professional interests include lifestyle and functional medicine, culinary medicine, online health communication, and advancing inclusive, patient-centered care. Additionally, she has created and runs “Beets by Brooke,” an online education platform and business. In her free time, she enjoys plant-based cooking, kayaking, traveling, whale watching, and spending time with her two fluffy rescue cats.
