We’re Stronger Together
With your help, we can make ambitious innovations in clinical care and education for our community.
The Walter E. Macpherson Society sponsors an eight-week (320-hour) summer research experience for study after the freshmen medical school year. The goal of the research program is to orient students to research and plastic surgery. Students are trained in basic science research, oriented to rounds in the hospital, take part in hand/facial clinics, and observe a variety of operations. Students interact with physicians at Loma Linda University Medical Center, as well as at other local and regional facilities. In addition, students have the opportunity to present their research at a variety of local, regional, and national conventions and to submit their work for publication. Through the Walter E. Macpherson Society, medical students can receive training in research, be oriented to clinical practice, and contribute to the improvement of medicine through quality research.
We welcome your application and participation in our department's research.
