These didactic sessions cover core topics in gastroenterology and hepatology. Sessions are led by faculty from LLUMC and VA in their areas of clinical or research expertise.
These case based didactic sessions cover core topics in gastrointestinal pathology. Sessions are co-led by a gastroenterology fellow and a gastrointestinal pathologist at LLUMC and the VA. Interesting clinical cases with pathologic correlation are reviewed.
These sessions review seminal new research articles in gastroenterology and hepatology. Two fellows will present articles along with a faculty mentor to help guide discussion on how the findings from these articles may influence practice. Each session has a dedicated topic area in hepatology, motility, luminal gastroenterology, inflammatory bowel disease, small bowel, or pancreaticobiliary diseases throughout the academic year.
These case based sessions cover core principles of interpretation of gastrointestinal imaging studies. Sessions are co-led by a gastroenterology fellow and a gastrointestinal radiologist at LLUMC. Interesting clinical cases with imaging correlation are reviewed.
These case based sessions review complex GI cases and allow for multidisciplinary discussion, review of imaging, review of pathology, and discussion of management by gastroenterology and surgery faculty.
These fellow led sessions incorporate a question based approach with teaching slides to cover core topics to prepare fellows for the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) Subspecialty Examination in Gastroenterology.
These 45 minute didactic sessions cover core topics in gastroenterology and hepatology that follows an 18 month schedule of topics. The curriculum is designed to follow the ABIM Gastroenterology Examination Blueprint. Sessions are led by fellows with faculty mentors and are complementary to topics covered in GI grand rounds. These conferences allow fellows to develop in depth knowledge on core topics from their appraisal and review of primary literature and guidelines.
These sessions allow for critical appraisal of complications involving endoscopic procedures or clinical management and discussion with a focus on quality improvement.
These case based sessions review complex IBD cases and allow for multidisciplinary discussion, review of imaging, review of pathology, and discussion of management by adult gastroenterology, pediatric gastroenterology and colorectal surgery faculty.
