Is the program on the cardiac or thoracic track?

Our program is on the cardiac track.

How many years of prior training do you require?

We require that you successfully complete an ACGME-accredited surgical residency program prior to starting our program.

What are the application requirements and interview process?

  • Apply through ERAS beginning December 1

  • Must be a current resident or graduate in good-standing of an ACGME-accredited surgical residency

  • Invitations to interview are sent in late January

  • Two interview dates; one in early March and one in early April

What are the rotations?

Over the course of the three years, you will be required to complete the following rotations:

  • Adult Cardiac (21 months) 

  • General Thoracic (12 months)

  • TAVR (3 months)

  • Peds/Congenital (not a formal rotation but fellows participate in cases)

What are your board pass rates?

100% - All of our graduates are board certified by the ABTS.  Our last seven graduates have passed both their oral and written exams on the first try.
