Didactic Curriculum

Our curriculum is designed to meet the ACGME and ABTS requirements for certification in cardiothoracic surgery. Weekly didactic sessions follow the STS Learn CT Surgery curriculum. The sessions are conducted in an interactive, small-group format and moderated by core faculty. Protected educational time occurs on Wednesday mornings, including faculty lectures, journal clubs, morbidity and mortality conferences, and oral board preparation. Clinical rotations emphasize autonomy and clinical decision-making through direct interaction with our faculty. This method enables our residents to gain independence in clinical judgment and procedural skills.
