Our fellowship curriculum is designed to develop all core competencies through close mentorship, comprehensive didactic instruction, in-depth and broad ranging clinical experiences, and an emphasis on scholarly work. Every graduate will be well prepared as a physician leader with advanced knowledge and expertise in infectious diseases.

Curriculum Highlights

  • Gain broad clinical experience across diverse patient populations, including transplant recipients and immunocompromised patients.
  • Complete an individually mentored scholarly project tailored to your academic and career interests.
  • Find global health opportunities through the worldwide Adventist Health International network. Adventist Health International is the second largest global health organization in the world. For fellows who are interested in global health experience, we offer four-week international rotations with funding support from the ID division.
  • Collaborate closely with infectious diseases and antimicrobial stewardship pharmacists as part of an integrated care team.
  • Provide comprehensive HIV care within a well‑established program supported by the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program.
  • Explore elective outpatient experiences in specialized clinics, including Coccidioides, high‑resolution anoscopy, hepatitis C, and travel medicine.
  • Opportunity to pursue high‑resolution anoscopy certification by completing an online course and performing procedures alongside certified faculty.
