Application Requirements & Program Timeline

  • A letter of reference from the department chairman 
  • A letter of reference from the program director 
  • A personal statement about surgical global health 
  • Current CV

Prerequisites/Post-Medical School Requirements 

Applicants must complete their ACGME-approved general surgery residency by June 30th to start the fellowship on August 1st.

Fellowship Timeline

  • Interviews (Virtual with Program Team): November
  • Residency Completion: By June 30 of following year
  • Fellowship Start: August of following year

Additional Requirements

  • Advanced Trauma Life Support Certification 
  • Eligible for California medical license 
  • Eligible for California DEA
