Vice Chair of Academics
Dr. Jamie Snyder is the Psychiatry Residency Program Director, Vice Chair of Academics for the Department of Psychiatry, and our attending on consult and liaison services. She has over 30 years of experience in the field and previously served as program director for Creighton University’s Psychiatry Residency and Child & Adolescent Fellowship programs. Dr. Snyder has many clinical interests including anxiety, major depression, eating disorders, early onset-psychosis, catatonia, and self-harming behaviors. To recharge, she enjoys scuba diving, gardening, cooking, decorating, traveling, bike riding, and reading.
Dr. Michelle Garber-Talamo is co-Associate Program Director and Associate ECT Medical Director. She has multiple interests in general psychiatry including interventional psychiatry, women's mental health, and psychotherapy. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her family and enjoying the mountains and beaches of Southern California.
Dr. Serafin Lalas is the Psychiatry Residency Associate Program Director, as well as Director of the Behavioral Medicine Center’s Child Intensive Outpatient Services. He works in Loma Linda University’s intensive outpatient program, partial hospitalization programs, and outpatient clinics. Dr. Lalas is certified as both a general psychiatrist and a child & adolescent psychiatrist. Outside of psychiatry, Dr. Lalas loves spending time with his wife and two children and teaching Children’s Sabbath School at church. He also enjoys basketball, tennis, and photography.
