Thank you for your interest in our Adult RN Residency Program. We seek qualified individuals who have demonstrated a commitment to the mission of Loma Linda University Health. We offer three cohorts per year: winter, spring and fall. Applications are only accepted during the Open Application periods.

Application Tips

On the application, you will be able to indicate which unit you are applying for. View the departments participating in the Residency program. Please note that indicating a unit in your application does not guarantee you an interview and/or a position in that specific unit/department. If you receive a phone call from another unit, that means all the positions from your desired unit/department has been filled and are no longer available.

The documents that must be received by all applicants are:

  • Application
  • Cover letter
  • Resume or CV
  • Two letters of recommendation from clinical instructors or an employer, preferably on letterhead

Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) or Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN) are the required degree programs.

  • If you have an Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ADN) and will be graduating/completing a BSN Degree prior to the cohort/program start date, you will be considered and thus can apply.

I am currently in a nursing program and haven’t received my diploma yet. Would I still be eligible to apply to the new graduate residency program?

Yes – you can submit your application even though you have not received your diploma. However, you must have your BSN or MSN degree and nursing license before the beginning of the program.

I do not have a NCLEX Authorization to Test (ATT) and/or haven’t taken my NCLEX yet. Would I still be eligible to apply to the new graduate residency program?

Yes – you can submit your application even though you have not taken the NCLEX. However, your CA RN license must be posted on the BRN website before the beginning of the program (Please refer to application period timelines for exact dates).

Do I need to be a California resident to apply?

No, As long as position requirements have been met all eligible candidates will be considered.

Can I still apply to the new graduate nurse residency program if I am working as a nurse elsewhere?

If you have less than 12 months of hospital RN experience, you are eligible to apply.

If I have previously applied to this program for a different cohort, do I need to reapply again to be considered for the upcoming cohort?

Yes. To be eligible for an upcoming cohort, you must reapply.
